Talk Pets! is place to exchange information and ideas about pets, post pictures, chit-chat, and most importantly have fun!
Origin
Talk Pets! was started in January 2003. Our goal is to provide the highest-quality, most feature-rich pet discussion board on the net.
Technology
The message board system is powered by vbulletin™. IMO, the best message board software available. It is 100% configurable and is based on a PHP-MySQL database, which is independent of the website. This means that we are fully-scalable, the amount of messages does not impact our site disk-space allowance - and the amount of messages does NOT impact site performance. Our server is state-of-the-art with 24 hour real-time tech-support.
Privacy/Security
The amount of personal privacy you desire is completely up to you. Your email address is never displayed as a default. You can choose whether or not to allow others to send you email in your "user cp". If you allow other users to send you email, they can do this but your email address is not visible to them. If you send email to a member, you will disclose your email address to the recipient. Email addresses are not collected, and will NEVER be sold or disclosed to a 3rd party.
Passwords are strongly-encrypted by the software at signup. Administrators of this site can not view nor decode your password.
Advertising/Pop-Ups
Talk Pets! does not solicit advertising. There will NEVER be a banner ad or a pop-up in the discussion forums. Commercial and "For Sale" posts are not allowed in the forums.

Choose an avatar or upload your custom one
Choose to receive an email when someone replies to your post
Use smilies anywhere within your posts
Post polls and see how others respond
Include a signature, and link to your website in your signature
Change your "user title" to whatever you wish
Your own private message account to exchange messages with other members
