Hi everyone! I found my way here from www.makeupalley.com and I really look forward to many fun discussions! I live in Sweden, and am a breeder of British Shorthair cats, which I also occasionally show. I am fairly well skilled in colors and genetics, so if anyone has any questions regarding that, I'll be happy to try and help. :)

I'll try to upload some pictures of my cats as well, but my server does not allow remote loading, so I must figure out another way to solve it. Meanwhile, you can look at my homepage to see lots of cat pictures.

I own three cats - all Brits. Ywette is a six-year old queen, color is golden spotted. Zalina is the baby of the house, and is a seven month old silver classic tabby. Hamlet is my lovely stud kitty, and he's a silver spotted tabby. I also have four babies here right now, but they're moving next weekend. *sob*

Looking forward to finding many new friends here! :)

By the way, I just started to post at MUA. Fun, but, dang - does that board move quickly, or what? By the time I write something - go back to look - my post is 5 pages back already. LOL

talk with ya soon. enjoy the board.

I looked at your website and your cats are breathtaking! I especially love the male-he is so gorgeous! My sister and I go to a cat show here in the NYC suburbs every year. I love looking at all the different breeds. One breed I have never seen in person but would love to is the Korat.

I have owned cats all my life, always domestic short hairs. If you look under the thread called "moving with cats" you can see my two current cats Layla and Trixa. Layla and Trixa live with two dog brothers Jax and Perry. Layla rules the roost. She is the queen of the house.

As a little girl, I always had a cat, but my parents didn't take very good care as far as vet visits and many of them lived short lives. Then when I was nine, at the end of fourth grade, for getting good grades, I got a new kitten. His name was Sausage (don't know why such a silly name, but I was only 9) and thankfully Sausage did get vet care and I was old enough to take really good care of him. I had Sausage for 19 years. I was 28 when I finally sent him to the bridge. When I moved out of my parents house at 21, Sausage came with me. He was always with me and I still miss him today (11 years later).

How sweet that you have kittens with you now. I volunteer at my local shelter and I love getting to play with kittens. I even fostered some motherless kittens in my home over the summer. One of the highlights of my childhood was watching my friend's Siamese give birth at 2 oclock in the morning. They are born in little sacs that the mom licks away and there they are, perfect teeny-tiny little kittens. It really was a privilege to be able to watch this up close.

Again Anne, it is nice to meet you and your beautiful cats! I've never been to Sweden but my mom has and she loved it! Valkommen!

Anne,

Did you know that you can actually put a hyperlink in your signature? It's a little tricky, but I'll go ahead and fix it for you :)

I feel so welcome here! Thanks everyone! And thanks for fixing the signature, too. :)

Boof, are Korats rare in the US too? I have a friend who breeds them, and I know that she just imported a new stud from.. Finland or Denmark, not sure. They are gorgeous cats, but to tell you the truth, I'm not skilled enough to tell the difference between them and a Russian Blue unless I look closely. They're larger and sturdier, but at a glance, fairly similar. :) And very, VERY lively! I chose my breed partly due to their reputation for being a little mellow and easy-going, as I live in an apartment with definitely limited space for them. (Ok, I'm hopefully moving soon, but still.) And, so far, it's worked great.

I've had cats all my life - I had two during my entire childhood that lived to be about 20 years old. (Not sure how old they were when they came, but they lived 18 or so years with us.) Both were regular outdoor cats, and real lucky ones. Now, I would never dare to have an outdoor cat again, there's just too much trouble out there waiting to happen. :/

This morning is claw-clipping time for all the tiny ones - they were playing in bed last night, and ouch! Since they're going to their new owners this weekend, I better fix it beforehand so they won't have to start their new relationship with clawclipping. :)

take care everyone!

Oh no problem. Hopefully we will get more "cat" traffic - but we are only a couple weeks old, so we're just starting up.

Right now there is just one "cat" board...and frankly I know very little about cats. But if we get more people, I can break out the cat board in to more boards based on breeds/care/breeding or whatever onther topices people would like to talk about! :)

Hi, so glad to see you here!!!http://www.clicksmilie.de/sammlung/mittelgrosse/mittelgr061.gif It's great to have a breeder on board. I grew up with "barn" cats, and frankly only had one house cat. I loved him dearly, but he had "testosterone" issues and wow, was he a struggle even though I loved him dearly. He lived a long time, but there was so much I didn't know. I can't wait to learn more by "lurking" around. You can find :goldie: and me at the Golden board, or at the Mixed Breed All American with my mixed breed Muppet. I'm also trying to get more people to join me at the bird board with my cockateil Charlie.....if ya know of anyone, send them on over.

Good to see you and we always love pics....thanks for the link!!:wavey:
