I feed my cat Nutro, and I always have. However my new room mate also has a cat, which he feeds Science Diet. I've always heard this referred to as a supermarket brand with a premium price. I'd like to convince him to switch to Nutro or another better premium brand, but he works at a Vet's office and as they receive commision on Science Diet he's come to believe that it is the best brand. My main concern is just that I don't really want my cat to eat his cat's food or vice versa, but I need a solid argument to try and convince him to switch. Can anyone help me with information about WHY exactly Science Diet is bad and Nutro might be better? Can someone direct me to a website where I can find direct comparisions about the pros and cons between the two brands?

any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Both brands seem to have a good reputation. One rescue I was with claimed that Science Diet had way too much preservatives for a premium (pet store) brand. Nutro has a minimum of preservatives.

I wish I had more knowledge as far as specific brands go.

We like Nutro. Seems when we feed Science Diet the cats vomit it up. I'm wondering if it's not due to the tiny pellets and they don't chew them as well as when they're larger. Plus since we've been feeding them Nutro we've had way less hairball problems.
