Hello, I have a 4 yr old Kitty, Snickers who is an American Shorthair, she desperately needs a companion. I am curious as to know what to look for in a new kitty/cat how do you pick out a nice, loving one that will cuddle with you? Any ideas?
Snickers grew up with our other cat, Mittens, who died when Snickers was 2 yrs old, so ever since then, she has been lonely and doesn't care for the dogs. She thinks they are stupid("Cats rule and dogs drool!"). WIth mittens, getting a kitten sweetened her temperament, does this work with most cats? Any info or ideas is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Kt and Snicker-baby!

As cats get older, they generally become less tolerant of other pets. A kitten is less intimidating to an adult cat, so it would be a better bet. As far as breeds go, Maine Coons are very tolerant of other pets. Even semi-feral Ernie was good-natured at heart. I'd work them in slowly. If you can, go to a shelter and see if you can exchange cats if things don't work out.
