Those stories always upset me. What's even scarier is that one thing many serial killers have in common is a history of abusing animals when they are young.

That kid should not only be punished, but he is at risk for a very warped life.

Yeah, sad. If you get a chance (If you haven't already) read "Mind Hunter" by John Douglas. He was an FBI serial killer profiler and it's scary how much cruelty to animals as a child is prevalant in his profiling.

That is terrible, not to mention disturbing. This past summer, here in Spokane, we had a case somewhat similar to this. These two teenage boys found a cat, named Max, in a field and poured gasoline on it and lit it on fire. The cat ran off burning through the field and was later treated by a veterinarian for 2 or 3 days, until it died. These things are so sad, and all they made the kids do was a year of community service. These were horribly messed up kids, I cried when I read this story. Just terrible...what is this world coming to???:(
