Talk Pets! Featured Pet for 03/03/04

Eclectus parrots - both 1.5 years old

Talk Pets! Member Name: Creeky

Creeky says:  The eclectus parrots usually mature at around 2 years of age. The usual clutch is two eggs and a pair may continuously breed throughout the year, i.e. there is no set breeding season.

They can make very good pets and do talk; however, they can also squark very loudly. The males tend to make much better pets as the females are the dominant of the two and the male is more passive.

They do require a high fruit, vegetable and protein diet as a basic seed diet isn't very good for them.
