Talk Pets! Featured Pet for 12/18/04

Name: Misty

Age/Breed: 18 yrs, Domestic Medium Hair

Talk Pets! Member Name: Becca

Becca says:

She will always be "my cat" even though I no longer live with my parents. We got Misty from one of my father's friends from work and my dad loved how she would curl up around the back of his neck to take a nap. She almost acts like a dog: She comes when I call her, learned that when I said "bedtime" to go to my room and lie down on her pillow, and will not let a stranger pet her without sniffing their hand first.

Misty is now almost 18 years old and still rules the household. She has always been a tiny cat (between 8-10 pounds-just lots of fluffy fur) but she is still teaching my parents border collie the "rules"... like it is impossible to herd a cat (they have some of the longest staring contests I have ever seen) and that she has first dibs on the space in front of the heater.

When she was younger she was an indoor/outdoor cat and would spend her mornings in the backyard hunting for snakes, lizards and yucky beetles. She is now a strictly indoor kitty, which is nice as her paws stay nice and white instead of "carbon black" grey.
